Custom-made aluminum profiles to protect edges and corners from chewing

The custom-made aluminum profiles allow you to cover the areas of the cage or home that your pet tends to gnaw on, helping to protect the material underneath.

You can choose between a corner profile, to cover two sides of an edge, and a flat profile, to protect a single surface. The flat profile can also be bent upon request, to follow rounded edges, such as those of a shelf with rounded corners.

The 50 cm size available on the website is indicative. The required length, width, and shape are agreed before ordering.

Choose the profile

Corner profile

The L-shape allows you to cover both surfaces that form an edge at the same time. It is useful when the pet reaches the edge from both sides.

Flat profile

Covers a single surface and is suitable when you only need to protect one side of the area being gnawed.

It can also be prepared with a custom bend, subject to a feasibility check, to follow a rounded edge instead of a straight line.

Indicative size and custom-made production

The selectable length of 50 cm serves as a price reference, it does not indicate a universal configuration.

Before ordering, we agree on:

• the length of individual pieces;
• the width of the surface to be covered;
• the dimensions of the two sides, for the corner profile;
• any bend in the flat profile;
• the fastening system.

For multiple areas to be protected, send a list of measurements accompanied by photos or a simple drawing. Any price differences will be defined before purchasing.

Fastening with screws or glue

With screws

For screw-in application, we provide the profiles pre-drilled and the screws. The position of the holes and screws will be agreed based on the support on which they will be mounted.

Before drilling, check the thickness of the material and the space on the opposite side, avoiding that the screw tips remain exposed.

With glue

If you prefer to glue the profile, we recommend the glue based on the material on which it will be applied.

Please let us know if the support is made of wood, plastic, metal, or another material. The choice of adhesive and the preparation of the surface depend on the application.

Respect the full curing times indicated for the recommended glue and prevent the pet from accessing the area during application. The profile must be stable, without accessible glue residue.

Curved profiles for rounded edges

The flat profile can be bent to follow the contour of certain elements, for example, a shelf with rounded corners.

To assess the bend, photos and measurements of the edge are required. Depending on the shape, we may also request a dimensioned drawing or a reference template.

The bend must be agreed before production: not all shapes can be achieved with the same profile.

What information to send?

To prepare a suitable solution, please provide:

• photos of the area to be protected;
• the length to be covered;
• the width of the area to be covered;
• the material and thickness of the support;
• preference between fastening with screws or glue;
• any curves or corners;
• the animal species and the parts it can reach.

Also report any existing damage, so we can assess whether the support is still suitable for fastening.

What does the profile protect?

The covering limits direct access to the material in the covered area. It can be used on areas of the cage, shelves, panels, and corners of the home, after verifying the compatibility of the application.

It does not eliminate the gnawing behavior and does not protect the surfaces left exposed. Furthermore, covering a damaged edge does not restore the strength of an already damaged element.

Inspection and maintenance

The profile must remain attached and stable, without protruding ends or accessible sharp parts.

Periodically check the fastening, especially in the areas the pet continues to gnaw on. If the profile loosens or deforms, prevent access to the area until it is repaired.

For cleaning, use a soft cloth and a detergent compatible with aluminum and the underlying support.
