The Story of Maw's Habitat
Maw's Habitat was born in a very simple way : from everyday life with our animals .
Over the years we have shared our home with hamsters, guinea pigs , rabbits , rats , chinchillas , and other small pets , learning about their habits , behaviors , and even the challenges of managing their habitats .
Like many homeowners, we have often faced the same problem :
Many commercially available accessories were too fragile , impractical or not suited to the animals ' real needs .
So we started doing what many enthusiasts do sooner or later : building ourselves what we could n't find .
At first, they were small solutions for our home : a sturdier shelf , a more robust house , a better designed accessory to avoid dirt or bites.
Over time , these projects have become increasingly refined , more functional , and more appreciated by other enthusiasts.
This is where the idea of creating Maw's Habitat was born .
Today Maw's Habitat is a small artisan workshop where we design and create accessories and habitats for rodents , always trying to combine three fundamental elements :
- functionality
- resistance over time
- animal welfare
Each product is born from direct experience , practical testing , and comparisons with other rodent owners . Community feedback helps us continually improve every detail .
