The wooden Loft house offers a sheltered refuge where your pet can retreat and rest. The roof combines a flat section with a sloped one, creating a profile different from classic rectangular houses.
Made of 10 mm poplar plywood, with a 10 mm slat roof, it is available in three sizes: a small one for hamsters and larger sizes to be considered for other small animals.
You can choose either a raw finish or a protective treatment, depending on your maintenance needs.

Available dimensions
| Size | External dimensions | Entrance diameter | Target species |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 25 × 15 × 20 cm high | 6 cm | Hamsters |
| M | 35 × 25 × 30 cm high | 10 cm | Rats and degus |
| L | 45 × 30 × 40 cm high | 15 cm | Chinchillas, guinea pigs, and dwarf rabbits |
The indicated measurements are external. Internal space is smaller due to the walls and the roof thickness.
The listed species help guide your choice, but not all sizes are suitable for every animal. Check that the entrance allows easy passage and that the chamber allows your pet to turn around and rest comfortably.
For a Syrian hamster, pay close attention to the 6 cm opening: if a larger entrance is needed, please contact us before ordering.
A roof with a unique profile
The combination of a flat and a sloped section characterizes the Loft model and adds a distinctive shape to your enclosure setup.
The slope also alters the internal space: the usable height is not the same at all points of the house. When choosing the size, consider the area where the animal will be able to settle, in addition to the overall footprint.
How to choose the size
Evaluate the animal's adult size, the dimensions of the entrance, and the space required for resting.
If the shelter will be used by multiple animals, also consider the number of entrances and the availability of other shelters. For guinea pigs and rabbits, consider a configuration with additional exits, to be agreed upon before purchase.

Raw finish or protective treatment
Raw
The wood is left without any added protective finish. It absorbs liquids and dirt more easily, so any damp areas require prompt cleaning.
Protective treatment
The finish is designed to limit liquid absorption and facilitate wood maintenance.
The treatment does not make the house completely waterproof. Avoid immersion, standing water, and prolonged contact with damp substrate. Use, cleaning, and gnawing can progressively wear down the protection.
To learn more about the differences, read the guide to raw vs. treated wooden accessories.
Placement in the habitat
Place the house on a stable surface, keeping the entrance clear and easily accessible.
In enclosures with deep substrate, ensure it remains stable even when the animal digs nearby. If the roof is reachable, also consider the height relative to surrounding surfaces and avoid possible falls onto hard elements.
Cleaning and maintenance
Remove debris and damp material with a soft brush or cloth, paying attention to the spaces between the slats.
When necessary, use a slightly damp cloth and let it dry completely before returning the house to the habitat.
Do not immerse the product and do not wash it under running water, even for the version with protective treatment.
Periodically check the entrance, roof, and gnawed parts. If splinters, loose elements, or structural damage appear, remove the house until it is repaired or replaced.
Handcrafted in Italy
Every Loft house is made to order. Wood grain and slight differences in shade are natural characteristics of the material.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference compared to a flat-roofed house?
The Loft model has a roof that is partially flat and partially sloped, with an internal height that varies throughout the structure.
Is it only available for hamsters?
No. Size S is indicated for hamsters; larger versions can be considered for other species by checking the internal space, entrance, and access points.
Are the measurements internal or external?
They are external. Walls and roofing reduce the usable space inside.
Can I request a different entrance?
Contact us before ordering to evaluate a modification to the opening or the addition of an access point.
Does the protective treatment make the house waterproof?
No. It helps limit liquid absorption, but does not eliminate the need for cleaning and attention to moisture.
